THE SABBATH IN PROPHECY
Revelation 14:6-12 gives the last warning to the world to get ready before Jesus the Creator and Saviour comes from heaven to take His waiting people Home.
These verses tell us of the everlasting gospel to help us prepare for that time. To be found ready means to be obedient to all that God has asked of us, doing only those things that please Him. We cannot do this on our own but He has promised all the power of heaven to join with both our decision and effort to obey Him, in order to make this possible. He will give us all His creative power to make something out of nothing in our lives so that we are changed people. We must make the choice however, to be obedient.
Two of the three angels giving these warnings call to the world about worship. Both give their messages loudly. The first calls for us to give glory to God, to give him the honour due to Him, and to worship Him as the creator of the heaven and the earth and the sea and the fountains of waters. How can we worship God as the Creator and be ready for his coming in the clouds of glory? What does this mean? In any search through the Bible the only way we find to recognise His
Creatorship is to keep holy the seventh day Sabbath that He gave as a reminder of the creation. The Creator God is a living God actively involved in all that happens to those on earth. The warnings end with a declaration that points out those called saints who have patiently endured and keep the commandments and live by faith in God, their heavenly father. ‘Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ Verse 12.
