FAITH CREATION AND THE SABBATH
Had you realised that when God created the world, the only witnesses He had were the angels.
No one on earth saw God create the world and all that is in it, No one saw how Jesus made the garden of Eden but Genesis 2:8 says ‘ And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden.’ That requires faith.
No one saw how He made human beings. Adam and Eve were not there to see it. They were created on Friday, the 6th day of creation. ‘And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.’ ‘And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him an help meet for him.’ Genesis 2:7,18. The angels were the only knowing witnesses to this also.
The only reason that Adam and Eve knew the details of the six days of creation was that God told them. They only knew through the Word of God. Do we not call the Bible the Word of God today? Not only did the Word of God speak the world into existence, but also it was the Word of God that gave Adam and Eve the information we have in the first chapters of the Book of Genesis. This information was remembered and passed from generation to generation until the time when Moses wrote it down.
Could some of the details have been changed or forgotten? In days gone by, there was a tradition of story telling and the task and the talent passed from generation to generation as the history of the people was passed down by word of mouth from one era to the next totally unchanged. This happened in English history and in Scandinavian history. This is exactly what happened until Moses wrote it down for us in the form we have it now.
This means that Adam and Eve had to believe the word of God, and accept it by faith, just as we must do. It required trust in the Word of God, and obedience too. They did not see God plant the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but they should have trusted and obeyed. Sadly they did not and so we have the sin problem in the world, as we know it today.
